John O’Rourke is a senior power industry executive with over 30 years successful hands-on management experience for a broad range of asset portfolios throughout North America and Internationally. Mr. O’Rourke served as Vice President and Managing Director of El Paso Merchant Energy from 2000 through 2004 with direct P&L responsibility, successfully managing the due diligence and management transition process for the acquisition as well as divestiture of more than $4 billion in North American energy assets. From 2007 through 2010, Mr. O’Rourke served as Vice President – Power for Fort Chicago Energy Partners (now Veresen Inc.), where he headed the power business and had direct P&L responsibility for this Toronto Exchange listed Income Trust’s power business, dramatically increasing the size of the company’s power portfolio during this time frame, including gas-fired, solar, wind and hydro investments while also serving as President of its US entities and on the board of the Alliance Pipeline and related mid-stream assets.

Mr. O’Rourke is a proven negotiator for a broad range of energy industry related contracts including EPC, Power Purchase, O&M, Fuel and other primary project acquisition agreements. Mr. O’Rourke has had a direct hand in the management and development of over 20,000 MWs across a wide spectrum of assets including gas, hydro, solar, wind facilities along with nuclear, coal, waste coal and municipal solid waste facilities. This successful experience includes the acquisition, start-up and building of asset management, operations and development teams. During his career, Mr. O’Rourke has had direct responsibility for the successful completion and commercial operations of over 3,000 new MWs of facilities across North America. He has a top-notch reputation for building strong management teams that focus on bottom-line results while maintaining and enhancing positive partner, investor and customer relations.
